Photography Resources

Photographs enhance media and social media postings. Photographs of service projects and happy participants are a great way to encourage a potential reader to engage with your story.

Please note: Photos taken by a club member or other photographer that include non-member adults or children and that are intended for use in advertising require use of our photo release form. (Social media posts are not advertising or marketing that require the form.)

Sometimes our clubs need a picture that they just don’t have. Here are some places to go to find photos which are not copyrighted and are royalty free.

Kiwanis International Libraries

Commercial Websites with royalty-free photos

In addition to Kiwanis International libraries of available photography, there are several commercial websites from which clubs can download royalty-free photos for internal use and for use in their prepared media postings. Some require membership fees or a licensing fee for some photos in their libraries, so clubs need to pay close attention to the terms of any commercial website and be careful to not misuse the images which are included in those sites.
Having said that, the sites allow users to search for pictures by description (e.g., “happy children on playground”, “children in classroom” or “school supplies”) and may be a valuable resource to find just the photograph a club may want for a presentation or media posting.
